FOCA FC
Brand Identity, Social, Digital
Foca FC is a women's and LGBTQI+ creative football collective based in Lisbon, Portugal. What began as a casual hobby rooted in a shared love for the game quickly evolved into a safe, inclusive space and a vibrant community - connecting Lisbon’s creative scene across art, photography, film, fashion, journalism, music, design and writing.
Foca means 'to focus', to keep your eyes on the ball, a word commonly shouted during practice, that ultimately inspired the team's name, but it also means 'seal', a soft animal not usually associated with football. We developed the brand identity alongside the team's founders and wanted for it to have a softer and creative edge to it, just like its name. The brand was developed to feel collaborative and unified, encapsulating Foca's values and team spirit. This is an ongoing collaboration we're proud to be part of.
Foca’s impact quickly reached beyond the local pitch. The team was featured in UEFA Women’s Magazine – Queenzine, highlighting its contribution to reshaping football culture and championing representation in the women’s game. [Read the Full interview → here.]
